LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) application has been established, over the years, in almost all medical fields (dermatology, ophthalmology, surgery and plastic surgery, urology, oncology, gastroenterology etc.)

Today’s dental LASERS have benefited from decades of LASER research and have revolutionized several treatment areas over the last three and a half decades of the 20th century.

The variety of possible application has led to a corresponding multitude of radiation sources and parameters (radiation power, wavelength, focussing capability, pulse-energy and pulse-duration).

I have the privilege of being able to offer the most modern, highly developed, sophisticated and state-of-the-art fiber-optically conductive LASER systems in dentistry in my dental practice Zahnarztpraxis Uetikon am See.

We have two types of LASER machines:

Er,Chr: YSGG LASER (solid crystal construction, 2780 nm wavelength) and the

Diode-LASER (semiconductor crystals construction, 940 nm wavelength) that directs the LASER-light from the LASER to the target tissue (fibreoptic cable).

The Waterlase® iPlus (Er,Chr: YSGG LASER) has the ability to effectively destroy the biofilm, efficiently remove hard and infected tissue (enamel, dentine, bone) and the smear layer without harming and damaging adjacent structures or the dental pulp.

The Waterlase® iPlus has further the capacity in soft tissue treatment. It vaporizes bacteria and stimulates the release of enzymes to help the body heal itself.

The benefits of using LASER include the elimination of anesthesia in some situations and the quiet operation of the LASER compared to the sound of the dental handpiece.

The Epic X (Diode-LASER) penetrates deeper and further improves the disinfection ability of LASER light and the healing effect by bio-stimulation. Diode LASER application supports soft tissue surgery by incision, coagulation, hemostasis, has a bactericidal effect, reduces inflammation, bleeding and scar formation and promotes bone regeneration.

The clinical versatility LASERS offer over 80 different indications for soft tissue, hard tissue and bone, supported by clinical evidence and scientific research.
